Our client, a leading non-profit in the D.C. metro region is looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to join their team in a remote capacity.
Responsibilities
- Develop test plans, test scenarios and test cases based on business requirements and execute them
- Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers.
- Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content.
- Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability.
- Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of Software Test QA experience
- Some experience in a lead capacity
- Knowledge and experience in testing complex web applications
- Extensive background in QA methodologies
- Experience with automation using Selenium, Cucumber or UFT.
- Experience with API testing using Postman or other similar tools.
- Experience with SQL

Our client's Cybersecurity Automation team is responsible for global information security workflow automation in a highly-regulated critical financial infrastructure environment. The Manager, Cybersecurity Automation will be actively involved in all aspects of information security by shaping workflows and guiding the development of software that ensures efficient and effective risk management throughout the entire information security lifecycle from Red Teaming, Blue Teaming, Application Security to Governance Risk and Compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the Global Cybersecurity Automation team
- Uses experience and hands-on contribution to guide development of Cybersecurity, automation, decision making, and analytics
- Empowers team members to identify the best commercial and open source tools and processes to accomplish their mission
- Oversees Automation team and program identifying opportunities for process improvement in software engineering and efficiency
- Recruits, retains, and motivates highly talented staff and balances the need to allocate tasks efficiently with the need to keep talent engaged, challenged, and growing
- Software Development - delivers high quality, tested and secure code using a range of architectures, tools and frameworks to automate internal processes
- Security Analytics – develops dashboards, reports and analytics delivering insights into security risks and threats
- Visualization - identifies new solutions and enhances existing open source and bespoke visualization toolsets to identify trends, compress event triage, understand data flows, identify anomalies, and automate reporting and analysis • Behavioral Analysis - identifies and implements tools to baseline activity and alert or limit suspicious activity and insider threat among networks, databases, data and users
- 5+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of experience with any of the following technologies
- Linux or Windows administration
- Scripting and programming languages (Python, Powershell, etc) must
- Experience with interacting and coding against APIs
- Adheres to best practices (PEP 8) regarding appropriate design, security, and code quality
- An understanding of database schemas, relational data design theory, and must be proficient in database and web development.
- CI and provisioning tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform
- University degree in Engineering, MIS, CIS, or related discipline a Must
- Previous experience in managing or leading a team is preferred

- Analyzes program and project requirements to collaboratively define program and project scope, goals, objectives and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders, to support client business goals
- Has experience overseeing development, gathering requirements, and managing new Website implementations.
- Works with Vendor to define project success and acceptance criteria and approvals, communicating them to involved parties throughout the project life cycle
- Develops, maintains, revises, and distributes project management plans for assigned IT programs, projects and initiatives, accounting for internal and external dependencies and resource and schedule constraints
- Plans and develops full-scale project plans, schedules and milestones using appropriate tools
- Regularly updates schedule and resource allocations, providing timely escalation and visibility
- Plans, directs, manages and executes program and project development and implementation from initiation through closeout, according to strict deadlines and budgetary constraints
- Develops, validates, tracks, analyzes and keeps the 3rdparty vendor to project budgets, recommending subsequent budget changes, when necessary
- Approves project invoices in accordance with delegation of authority, technical project accomplishments, and contract(s)
- Establishes and implements program and project communication plans and deliverables
- Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical paths
- Tracks, validates and reports status of project milestones and deliverables to project, business and senior leadership stakeholders
- Supports successful project delivery by actively participating in defining, developing, documenting, implementing, and communicating standardized project management processes, procedures, and practices for the entire project lifecycle
- Establishes, manages, and effectively communicates project expectations with team members and other stakeholders in a timely, intuitive manner
- Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifying risks and devising mitigation and contingency plans
- Delegates tasks and responsibilities to appropriate staff
- Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team
- Leads, coaches, and motivates project team members and contracted personnel, influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
- Expert ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including status reports; project summaries; scoping documents; staff and executive presentations; workshops or training; lessons learned; and other project-related documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts
- Aptitude to analyze problems and provide solutions in a time sensitive environment
- Proven ability to engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously and successfully
- In depth knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle required; experience with Scrum or other Agile methods is preferred
- Experience in writing user stories and acceptance criteria, and in using MS Office products
- PMP Certification and other certifications like Agile Scrum Master are a nice to have.
